Terms of Service
Last updated: May 20, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Homeezy, operated by Homeezy ("Homeezy", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Homeezy.
1. What Homeezy is
Homeezy is an online marketplace and software platform that connects homeowners ("Homeowners") with independent home-improvement contractors ("Pros") and provides tools to quote, contract, schedule, invoice, and collect payment for projects. Homeezy is not a contractor, builder, or party to any agreement between a Homeowner and a Pro. We do not perform construction work, supervise it, or guarantee its quality, legality, or outcome.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use Homeezy. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Pros must hold and maintain any licenses, registrations, and insurance required for the work they offer in their jurisdiction, and must keep this information current on their public profile.
3. Pro subscriptions and billing
Some Homeezy Pro features require a paid subscription. Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis (e.g. monthly) through our payment processor, Stripe. Unless stated otherwise, fees are non-refundable except where required by law. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you retain access until then. We may change subscription pricing with reasonable advance notice; changes apply to the next billing period.
4. Payments between Homeowners and Pros
Project payments are processed through Stripe Connect and route directly between the Homeowner and the Pro. Homeezy does not hold funds in escrow and does not take custody of payments between users. Any platform fee, where applicable, is disclosed and collected at the time of transfer. You are responsible for your own taxes. Refunds, deposits, and payment schedules are agreed between the Homeowner and the Pro; disputes routed through Stripe are also subject to Stripe's chargeback process.
5. Contracts and project scope
Quotes, contracts, change orders, and invoices created on Homeezy are agreements between the Homeowner and the Pro. Homeezy provides the tools to create and sign them but is not a party to them and does not guarantee performance by either side. You are responsible for reviewing every document before signing.
6. Reviews
Only Homeowners who hired a Pro through Homeezy and completed a project may leave a review for that Pro. Reviews must be honest and based on a genuine experience. Pros may publicly respond to reviews but cannot remove them. We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to: misrepresent your identity, license, or insurance; post false, infringing, or unlawful content; circumvent fees or solicit users off-platform to avoid them where prohibited; scrape or harvest data; interfere with the platform's security or operation; or use Homeezy to harass or defraud others.
8. Content and intellectual property
You retain ownership of the content you submit (profiles, portfolios, project details), and you grant Homeezy a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host and display it for the purpose of operating and promoting the platform. The Homeezy name, logo, and software are owned by Homeezy and may not be used without permission.
9. Disclaimers
Homeezy is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that any Pro is suitable for your project or that any project will meet your expectations. Always verify a Pro's license and insurance with your local licensing authority before signing.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Homeezy and its officers, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the platform or any project arranged through it. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid Homeezy in the twelve months before the claim or CAD $100.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Homeezy harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the platform, your violation of these Terms, or any project, work, or agreement between you and another user.
12. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or applicable law, or to protect the platform and its users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including payment obligations, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts located in Quebec will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer-protection law provides otherwise.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice (for example, by posting the updated Terms with a new "Last updated" date or by email). Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
